BERLIN (AP) — The 74th Berlin International Film Festival opens Thursday with the world premiere of “Small Things Like These” starring man of the moment Cillian Murphy. Festival directors Mariette Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian, who will step down after this year, expressed their aim for “open dialogue” surrounding the war. The duo’s previous film, “Ballad of a White Cow,” premiered in competition in Berlin in 2021. Kenyan-Mexican actor Lupita Nyong’o will serve as the Berlinale’s first black jury president at this year’s festival. Isabelle Huppert will return to Berlin to collect her unclaimed lifetime achievement from 2022, when the French acting icon could not attend.

Şi-a ucis amicul de pahar, lovindu-l cu toporul în cap. Crima sângeroasă a avut loc în dimineaţa zilei de ieri, în satul Constantinovca din raionul Edineţ. Potrivit Poliţiei, victima şi agresorul se aflau în ospeţie la un consătean în vârstă de 58 de ani. "Astfel, bănuitul având asupra sa un topor, i-a aplicat victimei, două lovituri în regiunea capului cu partea tăioasă, urmare cauzîndu-i o plăga în partea dreaptă a capului. Pe acest caz forţele de ordine au iniţiat o cauză penală pentru omor, iar bănuitul a fost reţinut pentru 72 ore.

Pe la ora 15:00 între bărbatul de 55 de ani și persoana care se afla tot în ospeție, de aceeași vârstă, a apărut un conflict din motivul că victima i-a adresat bănuitului cuvinte necenzurate. Astfel, bănuitul având asupra sa un topor, i-a aplicat victimei, două lovituri în regiunea capului cu partea tăioasă, drept urmare cauzându-i o leziune în partea dreaptă a capului. La fața locului a intervenit echipa AMU Fetești, care a acordat primul ajutor victimei, la scurt timp acesta a decedat. Pe acest caz a fost pornita o cauza penală pentru omor, bănuitul a fost reținut pentru 72 ore.

Miercuri, 11 noiembrie, la Biserica „Sfinţii Arhangheli Mihail şi Gavriil” din satul Trinca, raionul Edineţ, a avut loc Conferinţa „Vasile Stroescu – omul faptelor bune” dedicată filantropului român Vasile Stroescu. Evenimentul a fost organizat de Episcopia de Bălţi în colaborare cu Consulatul Român la Bălţi, Asociaţia Dinastia „Vasile Stroescu” şi Gimnaziul din satul Trinca. Comemorarea a început cu un parastas oficiat de parohul Bisericii „Sfinţii Arhangheli Mihail şi Gavriil” din localitate, Vasile Roşca, după care a urmat depunerea de flori la mormântul familiei Stroescu şi la mormântul Mariei Andronachi, prima doamnă preşedinte a Asociaţiei Vasile Stroescu şi promotoare ferventă a faptelor lui Vasile Stroescu. Vorbitorii au evocat faptele filantropice ale fraţilor Stroescu: Vasile, Mihail şi Gheorghe. Cu această ocazie Consulatul de Bălţi, Episcopia de Bălţi şi Asociaţia Dinastia „Vasile Stroescu” au gratificat cinci copii de la Gimnaziul din Trinca cu diplome şi seturi de cărţi „pentru merite deosebire la învăţătură”, iar Episcopia de Bălţi a oferit o bursă „Mecena Vasile Stroescu” unui elev de la Gimnaziul din Trinca.
